Yogi Rajat Thakur was born and raised in the Himalayas, where his body became his first laboratory and yoga his lifelong inquiry. A Himalayan yoga teacher, medical yoga therapist, and movement researcher, Rajat has spent nearly a decade teaching yoga anatomy, biomechanics, and applied human movement to practitioners, teachers, and therapists across India and internationally.
Rooted in the living tradition of yoga through direct learning from sadhus, monks, swamis, and masters of the Dev Parampara of Kullu–Manali, his work bridges ancient yogic wisdom with contemporary anatomical understanding. Trained in AyurYoga and deeply immersed in yoga therapy, Rajat has worked closely with doctors and physiotherapists, applying yogic principles to support people dealing with injuries, chronic pain, postural dysfunctions, and lifestyle related ailments.
His approach to yoga anatomy is experiential rather than textbook based. Through years of exploring different movement planes, breath mechanics, loading patterns, and nervous system responses, along with mountaineering, climbing, skiing, and therapeutic work, he has developed a refined understanding of how the body adapts, heals, and performs under stress.
Rajat integrates Hatha, Ashtanga, and Kundalini Yoga with physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, and functional anatomy, offering yoga as an intelligent movement science rather than a collection of static postures. Julia has been a yoga practitioner for about 8 years, and a teacher for 6. Her yoga journey started just as something fun to do, but very early on she realized there’s much more to this than just stretching. After her 200hr YTT she’s not stopped studying – she assisted many YTTs in Bali, did acupressure training, yin yoga teacher training, 300hr YTT, fascial manipulation and manual therapy training, and many more courses around the world. After all these studies she felt that teaching yoga in a studio setup wasn’t for her, she wanted to work with those who wanted to understand their bodies in depth and were willing to do the work to get there. This led to teaching anatomy at teacher training and working with students one on one.
